Blackletter Unicode, not a font file

Gothic Font Generator

This gothic font generator turns ordinary Latin letters into Unicode Fraktur and Heavy Gothic lookalikes you can copy from one list. Existing gothic results update as you type; PasteFonts does not upload your words, export a PNG, or give you a font file to install.

Three steps

How this gothic font generator works

Use this gothic font generator when a bio, display name, band title, or caption field has no blackletter menu. PasteFonts maps letters in this browser and hides the rest of the catalog so you can compare Fraktur-family results only.

  1. 01

    Type a short sample

Start with a name, a one-line title, or a short phrase. The field begins empty. Until you type, cards preview โ€œGothic Font Generatorโ€ so every gothic style is visible. There is no character cap in this app.

  2. 02

    Compare the gothic results

The list is the existing Gothic category: Gothic (Fraktur), Heavy Gothic (bold Fraktur), Arcane, Runes, and gothic mixes. Use Size only to judge the preview from 18px to 36px; it does not change the copied text.

  3. 03

    Copy, paste, and check

Click the card or its copy icon. A short toast confirms the clipboard write. The heart saves a style ID without copying. Paste into the real field, save if the form requires it, and confirm every glyph before you publish.

Unicode, not a typeface

What a gothic font generator actually outputs

A word processor โ€œOld Englishโ€ font keeps the letter A and asks a file to draw blackletter strokes. A gothic font generator replaces A with a different code point that already looks broken-script, such as mathematical Fraktur A. The clipboard still holds plain text.

That is why the result can leave this tab and appear in a bio field that has no font picker. It is also why the look can change: the other app draws the new code point with its own font, not with a file you downloaded from PasteFonts. There is no CSS font-family to install and no image to export.

Gothic and Heavy Gothic use Unicode mathematical Fraktur. In the regular Gothic map, capitals C, H, I, R, and Z use older letterlike symbols. Heavy Gothic uses the mathematical bold Fraktur range throughout. Neither core style maps digits, so 2026 in โ€œRaven 2026โ€ stays ordinary. Spaces, punctuation, CJK letters, and emoji remain unchanged in these two styles.

If you need a true blackletter file for print, a tattoo stencil, or a logo, use a licensed typeface in a design tool. If you need one line that can move through a plain text field, stay on this gothic font generator and copy a style that still reads after you paste it.

Four names, two alphabets

Gothic, Fraktur, Blackletter, and Old English

Searchers arrive with different labels. This gothic font generator answers them with the same Unicode family, then shows the extra alphabets that already live in the Gothic category.

Gothic and Fraktur

On this page, Gothic is mathematical Fraktur. Fraktur is a German blackletter style with broken strokes. Online, โ€œgothic lettersโ€ almost always means this alphabet, not sans-serif โ€œgothicโ€ as a metal-type term. Type โ€œRavenโ€ and you should see ๐”ฏ๐”ž๐”ณ๐”ข๐”ซ-shaped letters, not a downloadable blackletter file.

Heavy Gothic

Heavy Gothic is bold Fraktur. It is darker, not โ€œmore medieval.โ€ Use it when regular Gothic looks thin in the destination font. If a field already uses a small type size, Heavy Gothic can clog counters. Compare both on the same name in this gothic font generator before you commit.

Blackletter and Old English

Blackletter is the historical family. Old English, in search, usually means English blackletter display faces such as newspaper mastheads โ€” not the Old English language with thorn and ash. This gothic font generator does not encode Anglo-Saxon. It maps Latin Aโ€“Z to Fraktur lookalikes. If you need a tattoo-accurate Textura file, this page is only a character mock, not a stencil.

Arcane, Runes, and mixes

Arcane and Runes are bundled open-source alphabets in the Gothic category. They are related costume looks, not extra Fraktur weights. Gothic Outline Mix, Gothic Sans Mix, and Gothic Bubble Mix stripe Fraktur with double-struck, bold sans, or circled letters. Use a mix only when you want that contrast on a short display name. If the job is readable blackletter, stay on Gothic or Heavy Gothic in this gothic font generator.

Names, sentences, gaps

Short titles, long sentences, and missing letters

A gothic font generator is kinder to a two-word title than to a paragraph. Fraktur letterforms take more horizontal space and lose the rhythm of ordinary word shapes.

A display name such as โ€œLina Parkโ€ can still be read at a glance after you copy it from this gothic font generator. A three-sentence bio in Fraktur asks the reader to decode every letter. If the line must be skimmed, keep the body in ordinary letters and reserve gothic for one short phrase.

Coverage is Latin letters, not a full blackletter encoding. Mathematical Fraktur does not map digits. Unmatched characters, including ไธ–็•Œ and ๐Ÿ˜€, are kept rather than deleted. That is the same contract as the rest of PasteFonts: never silently drop user content.

Arcane and Runes use their own letter mappings. Mixed cards alternate between two component styles: the Fraktur component leaves digits ordinary, while components such as outline, sans bold, or bubble can transform them. Compare the complete name and number in the specific card before copying.

A mixed card is the wrong default for a profile you will reuse. Gothic Bubble Mix spends half the word in circled letters, which scans as cute costume, not blackletter. Gothic Sans Mix changes weight in the middle of a name. If a friend has to sound the name out, copy Gothic or Heavy Gothic instead and keep the mix for a throwaway caption.

Test with the string you will actually publish. โ€œHelloโ€ hides digit gaps. โ€œStudio 12โ€ shows them. โ€œHello, ไธ–็•Œ! ๐Ÿ˜€โ€ confirms that commas, CJK, and emoji survive a gothic font generator pass. If a character looks unchanged in the preview, it will still be unchanged after you copy it.

When paste looks wrong

Test a gothic font generator result where it will live

Empty rectangles mean the destination font has no glyph for that code point. A gothic font generator cannot add a missing glyph to another app. There is no catalog-wide order of which Fraktur capital will display. Copy a short sample, then try Heavy Gothic if regular Gothic shows boxes โ€” or the reverse.

Username and handle fields can be stricter than bios. Some fields validate against a restricted character set. Treat a rejected save as a rule of that service, not as a bug in this gothic font generator. Keep an ASCII backup of any account name before you replace it.

Assistive technology may announce โ€œmathematical Fraktur capital rโ€ instead of the word you meant. Do not use gothic letters for a legal name, a navigation label, or any sentence someone must hear accurately. If the line matters, send a plain-text version as well.

A short paste test

  1. Copy a short Latin sample such as Raven from this gothic font generator, not a long bio.
  2. Paste it into the real field, save if the form requires a save, then reopen the field.
  3. If you see boxes, switch to Heavy Gothic or Gothic Sans Mix and repeat.
  4. If mixed styles look like two alphabets fighting, return to Gothic or Heavy Gothic.
  5. If the form refuses to save, stop. The destination rejected the characters; this page cannot override that rule.

Honest limits

Limits of this gothic font generator

This gothic font generator is a clipboard tool. It does not become a foundry because the results look carved.

Conversion runs in JavaScript on this page. The words in the box are not posted to a PasteFonts API and are not written to localStorage. Favorites and Recent store style IDs only, under keys scoped to this origin. Another browser or a private window starts with an empty list.

This gothic font generator copies characters without font files, images, or color settings. Check your destination with the paste test above.

Search, sorting, and login may distinguish Fraktur A from ASCII A. Keep official names and account-recovery spellings in standard letters.

FAQ

Questions about this gothic font generator

Is this gothic font generator making a real font file?

No. A gothic font generator on PasteFonts outputs Unicode characters, not font files. No download or installation is required. The receiving app still uses whatever fonts it already has to draw those characters.

How do I copy a result from this gothic font generator?

Click the Fraktur card or the copy icon. A short toast confirms the clipboard write. The heart next to a card saves a gothic style ID; it does not copy. Then paste into the destination field and check every blackletter glyph before you publish.

Is Old English the same as this gothic font generator?

In search, Old English usually means blackletter display faces. This gothic font generator maps Latin letters to Unicode Fraktur, which people also call gothic or blackletter. It is not the Old English language and not a downloadable masthead font.

Can I use this gothic font generator for a bio or display name?

You can paste Fraktur into fields that accept Unicode text. Whether a given gothic character displays or saves depends on that app, device, and field. Always paste a short blackletter sample before you publish a name you cannot easily change.

Why does a gothic result show empty boxes after paste?

Empty boxes mean the destination font is missing glyphs for those code points. This gothic font generator cannot supply glyphs to the receiving app. Try Heavy Gothic, or return to the homepage catalog for a simpler alphabet style such as Bold.

Does this gothic font generator upload what I type?

No. Fraktur conversion runs in this browser. The words in the box are not sent to a PasteFonts API. Favorites and Recent may store style IDs on this device only, and clearing site data for this origin removes them.
